What is the Central Victorian Stroke Support Group?
Founded in 1997 by three stroke survivors, the Central
Victorian Stroke Support Group Inc. is a self help group of Stroke survivors,
Carers, family members and friends.
Its purpose is to:
After a stroke, people often feel challenged beyond their
ability to cope. Family members find it
hard to understand, friendships can be broken, and often the Stroke Survivor
and Carer feel alone and isolated, experiencing emotions such as anger,
frustration and negativity.
We can help alleviate these emotions by providing you with
a network of caring and understanding friends.
The Group offers a great social outlet, a place to come along and enjoy yourself, to meet others who share similar experiences to
yours.
You can be as involved in the group as you wish. You can attend our monthly lunches or even
become a committee member to help support the Group as well as others.
Other social activities such as film nights, barbecues and
coffee mornings are arranged throughout the year.
Where and when luncheons are held:
The Support Group meets
on the last Saturday of every month excluding December and Public Holiday
weekends.
For further details on any matter contact one of our
members listed below.
If you are concerned about coming to our lunch for the
first time, please call one of our members who will meet with you and make your
introduction into the group more comfortable.
