Morwell Stroke Support Group

The Morwell Stroke Support Group has been meeting since 1997. The Group
was started by our President, Marlene Austin and her husband John, after
Marlene had a major stroke. At that time there was no support for stroke
survivors IN THE LATROBE VALLEY and many people have been helped
over the years by attending our meetings and sharing their stories.
Our members now enjoy a cheery and worthwhile life after their strokes.

The Group started in Morwell but later moved to the Latrobe Valley Hospital
where our meetings are now held. We meet in the Nicholson Ward meeting
room on the first Tuesday of each month.

This may vary if we have arranged an outing so it may be wise to contact one
of the people below to confirm where we are meeting. The Morwell Stroke
Support Group
provides an atmosphere for stroke survivors, carers and
friends to make social contacts and to share experiences.

We have guest speakers throughout the year, which, in an informal setting,
provides opportunity for discussion and questions.
