I suffered a severe hemorrhagic stroke in late December 2015 and lost the functionality of my left arm and hand. I was accepted at Royal Park into the AbleX program, a therapy-based exercise upper limb program.
When this was completed, I started attending the Boroondara Community Stroke Hub, in Kew, to continue working with the AbleX system and I have recovered a significant degree of functionality in my left arm and shoulder, and to a small extent, my left hand.
I regard my involvement with the AbleX system as important in this process. I have received very good support from the staff, both voluntary and paid, at the Hub, and am very appreciative of this.
